Autumn Interiors: What the Season Brings Indoors
Shorter days change how a room is lit, and how a rug reads underfoot. A note on warmth, texture and the colours that carry a home into autumn.
Caring for a Handwoven Rug Through the Cold Months
Rotate the rug a couple of times through the season. Furniture and footfall wear a rug unevenly, and a half-turn spreads that wear across the whole piece rather than into one path.
Dry indoor air is harder on wool than cold is. Keep the rug off direct heat, vacuum without a beater bar, and deal with spills by blotting rather than rubbing — pressing a spill into the pile is what turns it into a stain.
